I realize that sometimes, I maybe keeping my hands
full by taking responsibilities for my four kids that I remain oblivious of the
other people around me. Having no helper (just a laundrywoman who also cleans
the house 3 times a week), I do the cooking, prepare the kids’ daily baon, take
care of the needs of the 2 youngest kids, check their daily assignments, and
answer their daily queries.
My twins, who are now in their teens, have a world
of their own. They now have their own choices of music, videos, shows, dresses
and accessories and even friends. They
even have “secrets” and things, which to them are “untouchables”. The 'unico hijo' is the most reliable and dependable living up to his being the only gentleman among the roses. While the youngest is the ever inquisitive, intelligent, sweet and lively companion. No dull moment with this young lass.
It feels good that the kids still remain dependent
on us, their parents. But I know, and it saddens me a bit, that someday,
somehow, my husband and I will have to let go and let them decide on their own.
Charrr (excuse me lang Melai), matagal pa sana yun.
It;s just a consolation that right now, we are
still enjoying the most of what we have.
Four kids, with 4 different personalities, 4 different goals & aspirations in life, 4 different values & priorities, 4 different
skills & talents & 4 different styles of “kalokohan”.
